The Octopus surfboard is our new high performance shortboard. Working with Dan Malloy and Jeff Johnson we’ve designed a superfast, loose, easy to paddle board that will handle a large variety of surf from two-foot mush to double overhead. The Octo is designed to be surfed with a wide aggressive stance. Lots of single concave gets it up on a plane quickly and turn easily. We found that we could minimize rocker, but still pull off moves because of the extra speed and early entry. The Octo actually picks up speed through cutbacks and turns off the top well. Though meant for back-footed surfers, any intermediate to expert surfer can adapt to this surfboard.
