Our Camps and Lessons are designed to get the beginner surfer in the water and catching their first waves.  We have experienced instructors, soft surfboards, and a relaxed, fun atmosphere.  Advanced and private lessons also available. 

We use high quality soft surfboards that are specifically designed for learning to surf.  The surf school operates on an uncrowded beach with lifeguards. A "surfing only" area prevents the water from being crowded with swimmers.  Billabong Campp participants get a Capt t-shirt and gift pack with goodies, surf mags and stickers.

Whether you have never surfed before or if you just want to improve your skills, we have the coaching that will enable you to reach your goals. Our instructors will work with you in small groups (4-1 student to instructor ratio), which provides students with more individual attention and a safer environment in which to learn how to surf.

Participants will be broken up into small groups based on their level of experience. The basics will be taught (or quickly reviewed for more advanced students) - we will begin with land lessons that will focus on you learning about the waves and different types of breaks, surfer etiquette and water safety, and the different types of boards and fins.

As the camp progresses, we will get into more intermediate skills, catching waves and controlling your board while learning how to turn and maintain balance on the board. You will learn the differences between riding in the white water and the face. You will also be taught to maneuver the board, turn, and begin to walk up and down the board. Our instructors are all CPR, First-Aid, & lifeguard certified and ready to teach you the basics of surfing.

With over twenty-five years of surfing experience, professional surfer Kai Dilling, is dedicated to helping students of all ages and abilities safely learn to surf and to appreciate a sport that can become a healthy, relaxing love of a lifetime. Kai is a native of the area, former middle school science teacher, and has surfed internationally and competed in local and national events, including multiple state and east coast titles. He is a current Eastern Surfing Association's East Coast Champion. He is a surfing coach and mentor to many of the coast's top talent and trains throughout the year with a select group of young, local surfers. Kai is a certified NASM personal trainer and yoga instructor and produces his own brand of surfboards, Sol Shapes Surfboards. Since 2000, Sol Surfers Surf Camp, LLC has provided a responsible and educational program that centers on safety and ocean knowledge and fun. Surfari Surf School has three locations.  The local surf spots that we cover are San Diego, CA, Ormond Beach, FL and Southern Brazil. In San Diego our store is located in Mission Beach at 3740 Mission Boulevard, 92109.  In Florida, we are located in a small beach town called Ormond Beach at 52 Bovard Avenue, Ormond Beach, 32176.  During the months of January-March, Surfari offers guided surf trips to a small beach town in Brazil called Ferrugem.   We teach surfing and stand-up paddling lessons at all of our locations.  Surfari also rents surfboards-fishes, shortboards, longboards, foamboards, and eggs.     
 
Surfari offers surf lessons everyday at 9am,11am,1pm and 3pm.  Lessons include use of a surfboard( which is selected according to your ability level) and a wetsuit.  The lesson starts on the beach with 30 minutes of land instruction and practice.  Then your instructor takes you into the ocean for one hour of coaching.  The instructor will help you with proper wave timing and judgment skills so you catch the best waves for your ability level.  After the lesson, you may keep the surfboard and practice what you learned for one hour.

We have a surf school in Gijón (Asturias, just in the middle of the Spanish´s north coast). Gijon is a city arround 270.000 populattion. Our school was founded in 2005.
 
We are open all year. We teach all levels. Of coruse our main activity is teaching beginners (al the rates are in our web page). But we also have two 3 months advanced courses (all the weekends and holidays), one in autumn an the other in srping. In those couses we have different groups with different skills, from beginning to competition.
 
We are preparing a surfcamp for summer 2010, this will be the first time for us.
 
We have organized too, different events and surf championships.
 
The surf school is located at San Lorenzo´s beach, in front of the "10th stair", this is the meeting point for all the local surfers since the beginning. San Lorenzo´s beach is the urban beach with more breaks in all the north coast of Spain, 5 rocky bottom waves: Peñarrubia, Camping´s left, Camping´s right, La roca, El Rick´s, and the very well know point break El Mongol, also more than one mille beach break with a powerful right on the left side of the bay called San Pedro.
