there is alot of talk about "drive" being generated by fins. i believe its actually the combo of the rail,length and shape as well as the fin design. remember the inside and outside surfaces of a fin become top and bottom surfaces in a turn,so the rail has most of the "drive" responsibility. i explain further on my blog.
