Rusty Piranha

Manufacturer Description
Our proven, extremely popular, everyday modern fish. Among other things, traditional fish have a long, straight, rail line relative to their overall length and a lot of area behind the foot. The tail area is stepped down with 3 sets of wings. This help to make the board quicker from rail to rail and tighten the turns.

Editors Review
This is a great board and fun on a wide range of days. Its perfect for a mushy day and an easy way to score a few extra waves. The increased volume make summer mush rippable. Rusty makes a great board and this is one of his most popular for a reason.

This board flies down the line. My first quad. I don't go backside very well but this thing has me speeding and making most sections. Awesome board.

Awesome board. I mainly surf knee to shoulder high beach break. Only downside is that it does not seem to be very robust. I seem to get more pressure dings than my other boards.

Doesn't pick up waves well despite the volume and surfs like a cheap fun board. Not one of Rusty's better models.

After trying a lot of other fish, this is the one I always come back to surf. It's a great board. My only complaint is that Rusty boards do not seem very durable. I've been through 2 Piranha's. My third one is epoxy. Seems slightly, only slightly more ding resistant.

Very fin board for small waves!i hace a 6'0 tuflite quad ThalĂa really makes the difference on 1 a 2 ft... And alternate this with a Hustler 5'10 when the wave si better... Great boards! Tuflite worst better on glass conditions

This board saved my love for surfing. You can ride it in a lot of conditions and catch a ton of waves. Very fun to ride, the tail is loose and shreadable

fast board, but you can easily loose speed. super easy to turn and floats really well as a 5"11

Good all-around board

I've ridden this board for 3 years and really like it in 2-8 ft surf. Mine is EPS and would order a new one 2" shorter.

The board is a bit slow but okay all around

Good for small waves; not high performance. Rides flat; good for back and forth but not vertical moves. Tuflites are a bit heavy.

I feel like the board is too long 6'0" and too thin up front. I have to work really hard maintain speed and my speed is killed after one turn.

TF thruster version: Durable, light enough. Good flotation in the right spot, catches waves easily. However it's slow as all could be. Drags hard at high speeds. Like a having a parachute, or a flat tire on your car. Can't make sections or do any vertical moves. Good overall fun board to own. Leave it home on big days, or when you want to go fast.

As a step down from a longer board, this thing rips, is extremely maneuverable and good for wave count.

I'm 6'1"/170 lbs - have owned a 6'4" Tuflite Pirahna & a 6'2" EPS epoxy. The TF was so stiff, it hardly turned. EPS was too light. Both were sloooow - too much rocker for this type board means no making crumbly sections and no connecting soft reform.

I ride the 6'0 Flexlite Tri fin version and it rips in 2ft to overhead and half waves. Very fun board.
